Meet Our Founder
Pritchard Roofing & Construction was built on decades of hands-on experience and a strong Midwestern work ethic. Jon Pritchard first entered the roofing industry in 1976 while still in high school in Northeast Ohio, starting as a laborer before learning the trade through years of field experience and apprenticeship work during college breaks.
After college, Jon continued working in the construction industry while raising a young family with his wife, Debra. In the late 1980s, an opportunity in the cable television contracting industry led the family across several regions of the country, including Massachusetts, Missouri, Kansas, and eventually Iowa. During that time, he managed crews and regional projects while gaining valuable leadership and operational experience.
In 1996, after the closure of the company he worked for, Jon decided to take a chance on himself. Using little more than a pickup truck, a ladder, and determination, he began distributing flyers for roofing work throughout Boone, Iowa. What started as a small local operation quickly grew through word-of-mouth referrals and a reputation for dependable work and honest service.
Over the years, the business expanded beyond roofing to include siding, gutters, windows, doors, fencing, and decks, offering homeowners complete exterior remodeling solutions. Today, Pritchard Roofing & Construction proudly serves homeowners across Central Iowa with over 40 years of industry experience, a loyal team, and a continued commitment to quality craftsmanship and customer care.

Meet The Team
Roman Verbeck
Roman Verbeck joined Pritchard's back in 2012 and fresh out of high school. He started as a laborer but quickly worked his way up the ranks as a shingle and siding installer. Roman is always quick to learn and adapt. A family man and a father of three, he is second-in-charge and the successor to the company once Jon steps away
Chris Johnson
Roman's half brother Chris Johnson joined up not long after Roman did, originally as a laborer. He learned the trades and after a few years worked his way to be a roofer and a sider. Chris has always been a consistent and steady employee, dependable and willing to learn.
James (Jimmy) Matthews
Jimmy joined Pritchard's just after the Covid epidemic back in 2021. Originally brought aboard for his siding experience, he has since learned the roofing end of the business and become a well rounded employee with a keen eye quality. Jimmy has grown into a crew leader due to his knowledge and experience, taking pride in the work he produces.
Mike (Mikey) Matthews
Mikey Matthews is Jimmy's brother and joined Pritchard's in 2023. He started out as a laborer but has slowly become a sider and roofer. A team player always willing to learn, Mikey is not afraid of a new challenge.
